Before you can enroll for college, you have to take care of your high school diploma. If you don’t have it yet, you need to complete it.
You can either complete your high school degree by taking the classes you are missing at your local community college, enrolling at an online high school to finish your classes or bypassing the diploma all together by earning a GED through passing the GED test.
If you’re interested in a health care career, nursing is a great field to get into. While most nurses are Registered Nurses (RN) with a four-year bachelor’s degree, you can also get into the nursing field with a shorter degree — the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) degree allows one to get some experience in the career to see if they like it before committed four years to school. And you don’t have to limit your college search to just the United States. Other countries have good universities too. Most colleges in Canada are just a short plane ride away (or sometimes a car ride) and offer some outstanding degree programs which may be right for you.
